PERSONALITY:
A rough around the edges type of woman, Milla can be abrasive, childish and blunt. But despite first impressions, it doesn't take long to see she's actually a very caring person who wears her heart on her sleeve and says how she's feeling, no matter what that is.
And usually, she's feeling pretty angry with the world. It's just her general state of being. Some level of irritation tends to undercut everything she says and given her life, it's no wonder. Despite her annoyances with things around her, though, she tends not to blame things on others (unless that person is Ludger, mostly because it's fun to her). Instead this restlessness merely lies as more bark than bite to her words and demeanor, making talking with her a confusing event sometimes where it's hard to tell why she's mad or if she's mad at anything at all.
Not that she doesn't have a bite but it's usually accidental. The thing is that Milla doesn't mean to be brash or irritable and she definitely doesn't actually want to hurt people. Even after finding out Ludger destroyed her world, her only reaction was to punch him and shout and cry before resigning herself to what happened. That doesn't stop her from making sharp remarks to the party whenever she feels like it, just thoughtless bites at their ankles filled with cynicism and pointed reminders of what they've done to her and of their own flaws. The underlying bitterness from the destruction of her world and of the way the party compares her to their Milla comes out constantly even if she doesn't mean for it to. She doesn't apologise for it, though and feels no need to be sorry to them for being herself.
That said, she doesn't like herself much at all. Surviving years of abuse from her sister Muzét, being the reason Muzét was injured and being distant from the villagers of Nia Khera made her already hard on herself. The abuse felt like a fitting punishment while being distant from people seemed like the natural course of things. She never once tried to change things because she doesn't see herself as deserving of more. After the destruction of her world and seeing that the Prime Dimension was actually better off than her world due to the actions of their Milla, she gained an even greater inferiority complex. As much as she hates this position she's been put in and the people who did this, she hates herself more. She hasn't done anything right and it's only hammered home by the reactions of the others to her. She's not their Milla and even if her world has survived, it wouldn't have been the better world that the others created. This is a major reason for her bitter and rough attitude. Self hatred can only be contained so well.
But for those same reasons, she is at heart so very kind. As someone who has suffering so much and been the target of abuse and felt so much loneliness, she understands how others feel. She tries to help others, insisting on going along with Jude to help him when she can for example or doing her best to cheer up Elle. Even towards Ludger, the person responsible for her current position, she tries to comfort him in her own ways and opens her heart up to him. She has fun with the party despite their awkwardness and enjoys their company. It's what makes it so hard for her to realise she doesn't belong with them. But she still wants to see them happy, too. In the end, it's why she chooses to let herself die; if it's for the good of the others, she'll sacrifice herself. For the people she loves, she'll do anything, no matter what the cost to her.
Aside from all that, though, Milla is much more human than her counterpart. She loves to tease people and gets into the most childish fights to the point where you might mistake her for a kid herself. She's playful and grounded in humanity, lacking any otherworldly air to her. She's a young woman who enjoys cooking - something very human that she takes delight in practising even if others don't always appreciate it - and the company of others. She needs that company. She gets lonely easily and might become bossy to get others around her but at the end of the day, she's a surprisingly normal woman who just wants her worth validated, whether it's through cooking or being acknowledged finally as someone different than the other Milla in a good way.
Of course, first she has to let herself think she's worth something. But she's trying. Little by little, day by day, she's surviving.
ABILITIES:
Milla is a great offensive fighter. Her skills with a sword rank high and she's not shy at all in a fight. Although primarily a melee fighter these days, she isn't lacking at all in the magic department.
Her magic comes in two styles: quicker, less powerful blasts of elemental magic up close and personal that can be mixed together with her sword skills and more traditional magic, powerful spells that take concentration to cast.
Although she fights just fine on the ground, she's quick and agile, fighting easily in the air and great at juggling enemies and using her magic to dart around briefly to slice them up before they even touch the floor.
Another trick up her sleeve is her ability to briefly bind enemies, keeping them still while others attack them. It only works for a short while but that chance can turn the tide of battle.
Unlike the other Milla and even other characters, she lacks a Mystic Arte, having lost the power of the Four Great Spirits. Related to this, her magic is not as powerful as the other Milla's and her connection to spirits has waned in some aspects. However, she still commands the elements and keeps a sacred connection to nature around her. It may be fainter but it still exists.
She also happens to be a budding soup chef and intends to branch out further. Watch out, fish.
INVENTORY: Her sword, her clothes and a few gels (apple and orange)
MEMORY ALTERATION: Most of Chapter 11 is the same, except Rideaux was actually summoning a way around Maxwell into a fractured dimension that would contain an item to destroy Maxwell. Knowing the others wouldn't let this stand, he would also gain one of the Kresnik brothers to use as his bridge to Canaan later, having used this danger to lure Julius to the ship as well.
Realising the danger posed to the Kresnik brothers and unable to defeat Rideaux alone due to the magic holding everyone captive, Milla decided to launch herself through to the fractured dimension to gain the item and keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
Unfortunately, that was part of the plan as well. All of it was a ruse. Now he can not only capture the real Maxwell once Milla left this dimension but would be able to capture the Kresniks brothers as well. All he'd need is the final waymarker.
Milla ended up in this situation realising too late she was manipulated again.
